An overnight flood rarely waits for business hours, and the paperwork behind it is where restoration jobs get stuck. This demo follows one water-loss job in RestCore™: the technician walks the loss on an iPhone, the walkthroughs, photos, and readings stay on the job, Tony drafts the Scope of Work from what was captured, the team reviews every suggested estimate line, and the office opens the same job on iPad and the web.
This is a sanitized RestCore™ demo job. Names, addresses, claim numbers, and payment details belong to a fictional demo company. It shows how one connected job can be organized; it is not a customer case study, professional advice, or a promise of any outcome.
The scenario
A homeowner calls after an overnight flood. Water has reached the garage and the kitchen and dining areas, and the contents in those rooms need to come out before anything else can happen. The job already exists in RestCore™ with the customer, the property, and the appointment attached.
Instead of a camera roll, a paper moisture log, and an email thread to the office, everything the crew does lands on that one job. That is the whole point of the demo: the next person to touch the file starts with the same context as the technician who stood in the water.
1. Walk the loss and capture the evidence
The technician opens the job on an iPhone and starts a walkthrough. They talk while they walk, take photos as they go, and tag the capture as mitigation, contents, or reconstruction. The spoken notes become a formatted walkthrough with the photos attached, not a voice memo sitting on someone's phone.
On this job the file already holds several walkthroughs: the overnight emergency mitigation visit, a garage mitigation walkthrough, an equipment walkthrough, and a pack-out box and materials count. Daily journals sit underneath them, dated, with who wrote them.
2. Keep mitigation, contents, and history together
Readings, equipment, contents, and the job history stay beside the walkthrough because they describe the same loss. When a coordinator opens the job later, they see the field story in order instead of piecing it together from attachments.
RestCore™ keeps the record organized. It does not decide the work. The contractor still assesses the conditions, chooses the methods, and owns the documentation.
3. Ask Tony for the next document
When the crew needs a Scope of Work, the technician types one line to Tony: draft me a scope of work, please. Tony pulls the walkthroughs, readings, photos, and estimate lines already on the job and writes a full draft, saved to the Scope tab where the team can edit it and export a branded PDF.
The draft in the video is organized the way a restoration file reads. Mitigation covers pre-demo asbestos testing, contents pack-out to climate-controlled storage, flood cuts and flooring removal, the kitchen sink and countertop detach, antimicrobial and HEPA work, and the drying equipment and days. Reconstruction covers insulation, drywall, texture, cabinets, flooring, and trim. Pack-back covers returning the contents. Every quantity comes from what the crew captured.
4. Tony asks before he acts
The estimate is where trust matters most. Tony can suggest lines, like the garage pack-back labor, but each suggestion shows up with Accept and Reject buttons. Nothing lands on the estimate until someone on the team confirms it.
The same rule covers every real action Tony takes on a job: he shows exactly what he is about to do, and a person approves it.
5. Completion, invoice, and balance stay on the same job
The work-completion report, the Scopes of Work, the estimate, the invoice, the payment plan, and accounts receivable all live in the same Documents view. The completion report is a multi-page branded PDF built from the job, not retyped from notes.
This is not accounting software and it is not a promise of payment. It keeps the money side of the job visible next to the work that justified it. When a customer pays online, the funds go to the contractor's own account.
6. The office opens the same job
The last part of the video switches to iPad and the web portal. The office sees the same job, not a summary in another system: walkthroughs, photos, documents, activity, and the next action ready for the right person.
A coordinator can see which document needs review, a manager can check the history before assigning the next step, and the owner can see what is still open. The field team keeps working from the same record on iPhone or iPad.
Frequently asked questions
- Is this a real customer job?
- No. It is a sanitized demo job in a fictional company. The workflow and screens are the real RestCore™ product; the names, addresses, and claim details are not real.
- Can Tony write the Scope of Work without anyone reviewing it?
- Tony writes a draft from what is already on the job. The team reviews and edits it, and every estimate line Tony suggests has to be accepted by a person before it is saved.
- Does RestCore™ decide what mitigation work is required?
- No. RestCore™ keeps the walkthroughs, photos, readings, equipment, and documents connected. The contractor decides the work, safety practices, and anything a carrier or code requires.
- What does the office see after the field visit?
- The same job in the web portal and on iPad: walkthroughs, photos, mitigation records, Scope of Work, estimate, completion report, invoice, payment status, activity, and the next action.

A restoration job moves fast, but the documentation cannot fall behind. Start in the field: walk the loss, capture photos, add the details, and keep the evidence on the job while the work is happening, so the next person has the same context. The walkthrough, photos, mitigation, contents, and job history stay connected instead of becoming separate versions of the same file. When you need the next document, ask me to draft it from the walkthrough, readings, photos, and job context you already captured. I show you exactly what I'm about to do. You review it, and you confirm every action before it is saved. Keep the Scope of Work, estimate, completion record, invoice, payment plan, and accounts receivable connected to the same job. Your field team works on iPhone and iPad. Your office sees the same job on the web, with the next action ready for the right person. RestCore™ helps restoration teams talk the job, get the paperwork, and keep the whole company moving. I'm Tony, and I ask before I act.
